A Future-Focused Approach to Education

The William Penn School District community paid tribute to Rap Curry before the start of the Penn Wood HS football game on September 8th. Rap`s family, including his parents, brother Ray, wife @repginacurry, and children, joined the ceremony on the 50-yard line, while more relatives watched from the stands.
The PWHS football captains presented the family with a framed football jersey with the number 33 and the name Curry.
WPSD Superintendent Dr. Eric Becoats then led a 33-second moment of silence in honor of Rap. He then spoke to the family and the crowd, promising that Rap`s legacy and memory will live on. We know how hard Rap worked to support the building of this athletic complex, and we wish he was here to enjoy and celebrate this moment.
We thank school board director Jennifer Hoff for her 16 years of service to the William Penn School District! She was recognized at the August 28th school board meeting.
She shares, “It’s my honor to serve the young people, citizens and communities of the William Penn School District. I look forward to continue to do the work of a School Board Director and continuing the fight for public education equity for our communities.”
Thank you, Ms. Hoff, for your commitment, dedication, and service!
Coaches, staff, board members, family, and friends wore #33 in honor of the late, beloved Rap Curry. Basketball star, teacher, coach, athletic director, mentor, colleague, difference-maker, and friend to all. There would be no new stadium without him, and we wish he was here with us to experience this. Rap, you are forever missed. #pennwoodproud #rapcurry33
