East Lansdowne students will be provided with rigorous, differentiated learning opportunities that will result in their academic growth.

The East Lansdowne Elementary (ELES) administration and staff are proud of the education we provide to our students.  East Lansdowne’s mission is to cultivate all students as learners and citizens who are high-achieving in a changing global community. East Lansdowne students will be provided with rigorous, differentiated learning opportunities that will result in their academic growth.  All ELES students are encouraged to become active learners, responsible citizens and positive contributors in an ever-changing global society.

Students enjoy extensive experiences in reading, writing, discussion, experimentation, interpretation, problem solving and creative thinking. Regardless of how knowledge develops or society changes, these processes aim to enable every student to comprehend, compose, analyze, synthesize and acquire knowledge and to use that knowledge wisely throughout life.

Staff members focus on building relationships through positive interactions, with each other, students and families. Students and families are encouraged to become involved in the myriad of school-wide, age-appropriate activities, such as Career Day, Talent show, Bingo nights and Field-Day to name a few.  In addition, students are encouraged to participate in after-school activities (i.e., Student Council, Cheerleading, Media Club, Newspaper Club, Book Club etc.)  in which our dedicated staff ensure that students are engaged and challenged while having fun.

Important Update: Evacuation and ELES

Update: March 17, 2025 – 9:45 a.m. – PECO has given the all-clear at East Lansdowne ES, and students are returning to the building.

March 17, 2025 – 9:00 a.m. – Due to a report of the smell of gas at East Lansdowne Elementary School, students and staff are being evacuated to their temporary evacuation locations. K-3 are going to East Lansdowne Borough Hall, and 4-6 are going to Vision Academy. We have followed all safety protocols and will not return students to the building until it is deemed safe by the appropriate authorities.

If you want to pick up your student, you are welcome to do so at their evacuation location. However, you do not have to do so.

We will continue to keep you updated as the situation develops on the website and on Parentsquare.
