William Penn School Board Recognizes Service Milestones and Welcomes New Student Member

Lansdowne, PASeptember 30, 2024

At the September 23, 2024, School Board Business Meeting, several William Penn School District school board members were recognized for their dedicated service. Superintendent Dr. Eric Becoats presented Honor Roll of School Board Service awards, issued by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, to the following members:

  • Monique Boykins, Board President, for ten years of service
  • Wadiya Ivery, Board Vice President, for five years of service
  • Valerie Cook-Henry, Board Member, for five years of service
  • William Callahan, Board Member, for five years of service

Additionally, Ismael Torres, Class of 2028, was sworn in as the newest student board member. He will represent the Ninth Grade Academy and join current student board members Eli Faber (’27), Morgan Askew-Green (’26), and Jaylah Wise (’25) in serving the district. Board President Ms. Monique Boykins presided over the ceremony.

The district extends its gratitude to the family and friends who attended the meeting to support Ismael and congratulates all the award recipients for their service.
