The Art Department is pleased to share news of the upcoming Annual Student Art Show, scheduled to take place at Penn Wood High School from Monday, May 6th – Thursday, May 16th. The Art Show Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place on the evening of Thursday, May 9th from 6 – 8 pm. Please save the date! The show features student work created in the Drawing, Studio Portfolio and Ceramics classes at Penn Wood High School.
The evening is hosted by students in the National Art Honor Society. This is a family friendly event and in addition to seeing student work on view, families can see students’ projects underway in the art rooms, talk to student artists, and engage in simple art projects geared towards our younger guests run by students in NAHS. Also enjoy light refreshments and live music by several jazz band students.
At 7 p.m. art teachers will present the awards which are ribbons honoring outstanding works in the categories of drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture.
Assisting with the judging is former student and Penn Wood alumna Nichole Potts, class of 2008 Valedictorian. Nichole attended Tyler School of Art and Design earning a degree in Graphic and Interactive Design with a minor in Art History. She currently works as a senior Graphic Designer at an agency creating educational materials for the pharmaceutical industry.
