High School Students Invited to Innovate for Safer Roads with PennDOT’s Innovations Challenge

October 27, 2025 – Lansdowne, PA

PennDOT District 6 is hosting its 2025-2026 Innovations Challenge, inviting high school students to develop creative concepts using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve safety in work zones. Participants are asked to design smarter systems that can prevent crashes and protect both workers and road users, while considering factors such as cost, statewide deployment, and public outreach.

This exciting opportunity encourages students to combine innovation with real-world problem-solving. Submissions can lead to recognition for students’ ingenuity and their contributions to their community.

Who Can Participate: High school students in PennDOT District 6, which includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.
