Penn Wood Students Honored as Rotary Club Students of the Month

Three outstanding Penn Wood High School students were named Upper Darby/Lansdowne Rotary Club Students of the Month. Alieu Kamara (January), Jaylah Wise (January), and Angel Solange Asega (February) were honored for their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.

Alieu Kamara, a senior, is a dedicated scholar and an active school community member. He participates in numerous clubs and activities, including the literary magazine, College Possible, Student Council, National Honors Society, Robotics, and PBIS. Alieu is also a four-year soccer player and actively encourages young adults to register to vote. In his free time, he enjoys DJing events. Alieu plans to pursue a career in neuroscience.

Jaylah Wise is a senior who excels both academically and in extracurricular activities. While eagerly awaiting the start of softball season, Jaylah is actively involved in several after-school organizations. She takes particular pride in her role as Student Ambassador to the School Board, where she serves as a liaison between the student body and the board. Jaylah aspires to pursue a career in law.

On Wednesday, February 19th, Angel Solange Asega was honored as the Rotary Student of the Month. Angel’s contributions to the school community are abundant. She is a member of the National Honors Society, Math Honors Society, Student Council, and School Board Advisory Council. Her participation, commitment, and leadership in these student groups made her an excellent selection for the February Rotary Club Student of the Month.

The Rotary Club of Upper Darby and Lansdowne congratulated Alieu, Jaylah, and Angel on their well-deserved recognition, commending their commitment to excellence and contributions to the school and community.
