In addition to the news story posted on February 5 (see below) about the updated 2023-24 school year calendar, there has been another amendment.

Due to district closure due to inclement weather on February 13, the following change will be made to meet the required academic hours for our students.

• Thursday, March 7th will now be a full-day of school for students instead of a parent-teacher conference day.

Lansdowne, PA – February 5, 2024

In response to school closures on January 16, 17, and 19 due to inclement weather, the William Penn School District announced changes to the 2023-2024 academic calendar to ensure all students receive the required instructional hours.

The following changes will be made to the school calendar:

• Previously scheduled half days on February 14, April 17, and May 29 will now be full school days.
• May 13, originally designated as a professional development day, will now be a full school day for students.

The district understands that these changes may cause inconvenience for some families. However, they emphasize the importance of ensuring all students have access to a complete and quality education.
