WPSD Good News: Ninth Grade Academy Growth

Lansdowne, PA – December 10, 2025

The William Penn School District is proud to recognize the Ninth Grade Academy for its remarkable academic growth in the 2024–2025 Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS) results. This year’s data shows extraordinary progress, with the school nearly doubling its building-level growth score which is a clear reflection of the hard work, determination, and collaboration happening every day in classrooms.

One of the most significant achievements came in Algebra I, where students moved from the Well Below category to Well Above the state growth standard. This shift demonstrates the powerful impact of intentional practices such as targeted interventions, strategic instructional planning, strong teacher collaboration, and increased instructional time. These efforts are helping students strengthen foundational skills and build the confidence needed for success in high school and beyond.

The growth shown by the Ninth Grade Academy highlights the commitment of both students and staff to continuous improvement, even in the face of challenges. It also reflects the district’s focus on using data tools like PVAAS to guide instruction and ensure every student is on a path to proficiency and long-term achievement.

Congratulations to the entire Ninth Grade Academy community on this well-deserved accomplishment. Your hard work is making a difference, and the results speak for themselves.
