Lansdowne, PA – May 27, 2025
In a display of exceptional athleticism, Penn Wood High School’s own Samiah Knight played a crucial role in leading the Philadelphia Eagles Girls’ Flag Football program to their second consecutive Big 33 All-Star Game championship this past weekend. The Eagles secured the title with a dominant 3-1 record in a round-robin tournament, overcoming teams sponsored by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Ravens.
Knight’s performance was instrumental, as she caught the game-winning touchdown in the championship game, securing the back-to-back victories for the Philadelphia Eagles program.
Her contributions extended beyond the Big 33 tournament, earning her significant individual recognition. Samiah Knight has been named 1st Team All-Del Val as both a wide receiver and a defensive back. She also received the Del Val Offensive Player of the Year award. Further highlighting her talent, Knight is set to receive the Mini-Maxwell Award, an honor bestowed upon some of the most accomplished high school football players in the region based on performance, academics, and community service.
WPSD and the Flag Football Program proudly acknowledge Samiah Knight for her outstanding achievements, her commitment to the sport, and her exemplary representation of Penn Wood High School and women in athletics. The community is encouraged to congratulate Samiah for her remarkable accomplishments.
