Lansdowne, PA – October 17, 2023

A community celebration and park dedication in honor of Rap Curry will occur on Sunday, October 22, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at “The Center” on Bartram Avenue in Lansdowne. Rap Curry is a local basketball legend, community leader, and Penn Wood High School Athletic Director, who passed away in the summer of 2023.

“The Center” is a community park in Lansdowne where Rap grew up playing various sports and crafted his basketball skills that would define who he became as a basketball player. It is also where he started forming relationships within the community that would help him grow into a leader in the community.

The event will feature a 3V3 basketball tournament, a resource fair, food, and music. The Rap Curry Park dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend and celebrate Rap Curry’s legacy.
