Welcome to the William Penn School District athletics page. Here you will find information about the various sports teams, clubs, and events that our students participate in throughout the year. Whether you are a student athlete, a parent, a coach, or a fan, you will find something of interest here.

Our high school athletics program is designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship among our students. We offer a wide range of sports for both boys and girls, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, cross country, tennis, baseball, softball and more. We also have several clubs and activities that support our athletic endeavors, such as cheerleading, and marching band.

We are Penn Wood proud of the achievements and accomplishments of our student athletes, both on and off the field. They represent our school district with excellence and integrity. We encourage you to support them by attending games and events, cheering them on, and celebrating their successes.

Information for the Fall 2026 Season

The Penn Wood fall sports season began on Monday, August 17, 2026. To participate in tryouts, practices, or competitions, all student-athletes must be approved by the athletic department through the Arbiter Registration (FamilyID) system.

Physical Examination Requirements
All athletes must have a valid PIAA Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (Section 6) on file. To be valid for the current spring season, the physical must have been performed by an Authorized Medical Examiner (AME) on or after May 1, 2026.

• Existing Physicals: If a student received a physical on or after May 1, 2026, they must have their physician complete the PIAA Section 6 form and upload it to their Arbiter account.
• Alternative Location: Physicals are also available at the Sports Science Center (166 Saxer Ave., Springfield, PA) for a $40 cash fee. Appointments can be made by calling 610-328-7262.

Documentation and Fees
The cost for the school-hosted physicals is $40 cash. Prior to the exam, students and parents must complete Sections 5 and 6 of the PIAA paperwork. Only the current version of these forms, available at the Green Ave athletic office or attached to official school communications, will be accepted.

Only Section 6 needs to be uploaded to the “Most Recent Physical” section in Arbiter Registration. Per athletic department policy, coaches must verify student clearance through the Arbiter site or app before allowing participation. No exceptions will be made to this rule.
