Penn Wood High School’s athletic department has been recognized with the PIAA District 1 Sportsmanship Award for the 2023-2024 school year. This honor highlights the commitment of Penn Wood athletes, coaches, and staff to promoting respect, integrity, and fair play both on and off the field.
Principal Stephen Chicano and Athletic Director Leon Howard were on hand to proudly accept the award on behalf of the school. Their leadership has been instrumental in fostering a culture of sportsmanship and ethical conduct within the athletic program.
The Sportsmanship Award is given annually to schools that demonstrate exemplary conduct, teamwork, and ethical behavior across all levels of competition. Being chosen by fellow schools within District 1 makes this accolade particularly meaningful for Penn Wood, as it reflects the collective appreciation of their positive sportsmanship.
