Amanda Simiriglio, a fifth-grade teacher at Walnut St. Elementary School, has been recognized with the prestigious Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU) Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award. This annual award celebrates outstanding educators who have made a positive impact through their innovative teaching methods and unwavering dedication to their students.

The FMFCU Foundation, in partnership with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, bestows this honor upon 20 exceptional teachers each year. Simiriglio’s commitment to her students and her innovative approach to education has earned her this well-deserved recognition.

As part of the award, Simiriglio will receive a grant of $1,000 towards classroom expenses. Additionally, she will be presented with a commemorative plaque to mark this achievement. The Walnut St. Elementary School will also benefit from a $1,000 award to support educational initiatives.

Simiriglio will join fellow award recipients at the FMFCU Foundation Celebration, scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Drexelbrook Events Center in Drexel Hill.
