Lansdowne, PA – May 19, 2026

Due to forecasted high temperatures and building cooling concerns, both Bell Avenue Elementary School and Penn Wood High School will follow half-day schedules on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

• Bell Avenue Elementary School is currently experiencing a mechanical issue affecting the building’s HVAC system. While repairs are underway, the building is without adequate cooling at this time.
• Penn Wood High School will also operate on a half-day schedule due to the anticipated heat and the lack of air conditioning in the building. Please note that p.m. vo-tech students are still expected to attend their DCTS programs, and their busses will be available for them. There is no change to the morning DCTS programs.

District administration made these decisions to help maintain safe and comfortable conditions for students and staff during the expected warm weather.
