Lansdowne, PA – May 29, 2025
Penn Wood High School senior Chelsea Nyankon has been recognized as the Rotary Club’s Student of the Year by the Upper Darby-Lansdowne Rotary Club, which is a well-deserved honor for a student who exemplifies the Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
Chelsea’s dedication to service and academic excellence sets her apart. She recently earned her Medical Assistant certification from Delaware County Technical Schools (DCTS), where she also serves as a volunteer EMT, which is a testament to her commitment to helping others.
Chelsea’s service journey doesn’t stop there. She will be joining the Army National Guard, and in the Spring, she plans to attend Widener University to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
“We are so proud of Chelsea’s accomplishments and the way she consistently leads by example,” said school counselor Lisa Cinquino. “She is an inspiration to her peers and a true embodiment of the spirit of service.”
Congratulations, Chelsea! Your WPSD family is cheering you on as you continue your journey of service, leadership, and learning.
