We proudly announce that the Penn Wood Theater Club’s spring musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” directed by Ms. Judy Jordan has been nominated for 10 Cappies Awards! From Best Musical to Best Ensemble, the cast and crew have been recognized for their talent, hard work, and dedication.
The Cappies Awards program celebrates high school theatre by recognizing outstanding shows and individuals, aiming to honor high achievement in the field. It is also a nationwide writing program in which high school journalists watch and critique performances by other high schools. We would like to recognize our critic team: Morgan Askew-Green, Samiah Fatokun, and Savannah Samuels.
Nominations include:
- Best Musical – Penn Wood High School’s Little Shop of Horrors
- Best Actor in a Musical – Gabriel Beckett as Seymour Krelborn
- Best Song – Feed Me (Git It) performed by Gabriel Beckett, Idrees Streater & Violet Schleigh
- Best Supporting Actress in a Musical – Erinma Ebo as Ronnette
- Best Ensemble in a Musical – Erinma Ebo, Samiah Fatokun & Jada Payton as The Urchins
- Best Solo Dancer – Samiah Fatokun as Chiffon
- Best Dance Ensemble in a Musical – Erinma Ebo, Samiah Fatokun & Jada Payton as The Urchins
- Best Supporting Actor – Idrees Streater as Audrey II
- Creativity – Violet Schleigh as Audrey II Puppeteer
- Best Comic Actor in a musical – Emmanuel James
