Lansdowne, PA – June 8, 2026

When the school year wraps up, and students head into summer, the music doesn’t have to stop. That’s the idea behind Summer Band 2026, a twice-a-week rehearsal series run jointly by Penn Wood High School and Penn Wood Middle School, returning this year under the direction of Adam Naroff and John Simonnet.

Open to band students at both schools, Summer Band offers an alternative to the structured demands of the school year. The atmosphere is welcoming and energetic.  Summer Band is a chance to dig into new music, sharpen technique, and build friendships with fellow musicians from across the district. No auditions, no pressure. Just great music and dedicated directors.

The series begins in June with two kick-off sessions on the 15th and 17th, giving students an easy on-ramp into the summer program. Then in July, the schedule shifts into full swing with sessions every Monday and Wednesday (July 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, and 29th). That’s ten total rehearsals spread across the heart of summer, each running from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Green Ave. Band Room at Penn Wood High School.

For students who want to arrive at fall rehearsals already warmed up and confident, Summer Band is the perfect investment. Whether you’re a first-chair veteran or still finding your footing on a new instrument, Directors Naroff and Simonnet create an environment where every student can improve and enjoy the process.
