Lansdowne, PA – February 25, 2026
The Penn Wood spring sports season is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 2, 2026. To participate in tryouts, practices, or competitions, all student-athletes must be approved by the athletic department through the Arbiter Registration (FamilyID) system.
Physical Examination Requirements
All athletes must have a valid PIAA Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (Section 6) on file. To be valid for the current spring season, the physical must have been performed by an Authorized Medical Examiner (AME) on or after May 1, 2025.
- Existing Physicals: If a student received a physical on or after May 1, 2025, they must have their physician complete the PIAA Section 6 form and upload it to their Arbiter account.
- New Physicals: Students still needing an exam may attend the sessions offered on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the PWHS Green Ave Campus, 9th Grade Academy, and PWMS.
- Alternative Location: Physicals are also available at the Sports Science Center (166 Saxer Ave., Springfield, PA) for a $40 cash fee. Appointments can be made by calling 610-328-7262.
Documentation and Fees
The cost for the school-hosted physicals is $40 cash. Prior to the exam, students and parents must complete Sections 5 and 6 of the PIAA paperwork. Only the current version of these forms, available at the Green Ave athletic office or attached to official school communications, will be accepted.
Deadlines and Compliance
The final deadline to complete spring sports registration is March 4, 2026.
Only Section 6 needs to be uploaded to the “Most Recent Physical” section in Arbiter Registration. Per athletic department policy, coaches are required to verify student clearance through the Arbiter site or app before allowing participation. No exceptions will be made to this rule.
