Dear William Penn School District Community,

We are pleased to share that the search for William Penn School District’s next superintendent continues to progress successfully, with strong interest from qualified candidates. The application period remains open through October 25, 2026, providing additional time to attract a robust and diverse pool of applicants.

We would also like to thank the students, families, staff, and community members who participated in recent focus groups. The thoughtful feedback shared during those conversations is already helping to shape the superintendent leadership profile, candidate evaluation criteria, and interview questions that will guide the next phases of the search.

The in-person community focus group originally planned as part of the search process will no longer be held. However, the Board remains committed to gathering broad stakeholder input through the superintendent search survey and the feedback already received through the focus group process.

For those who were unable to participate in a focus group, there is still an opportunity to make your voice heard. The Board of School Directors invites all stakeholders to complete the superintendent search survey, which is being facilitated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). As with the focus groups, survey responses will remain confidential and will be reported only in aggregate.

Next Steps

Once the application period closes, the Board and CCIU search team will review candidate materials and begin the screening process. Candidates whose experiences, qualifications, and leadership approaches align most closely with the priorities identified by the William Penn community and Board of School Directors will advance through a series of interviews and assessments.

The Board remains committed to conducting a thoughtful, inclusive, and thorough search process focused on identifying the leader best positioned to serve the students, staff, families, and communities of William Penn School District. Additional updates will be shared as the search reaches key milestones.
