WPSD Announces Two-Hour Delay for April 7

The school district has announced a schedule change for the first day of classes following Spring Break. On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, all district schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students.

This delay is scheduled to allow staff to complete mandatory training for the state’s transition to 100% digital PSSA and Keystone assessments.

Adjusted School Start Times
The following start times will be in effect for the two-hour delay:

  • High Schools: 9:30 a.m.
  • Middle School: 9:50 a.m.
  • Elementary Schools: 10:40 a.m.

Transportation and Dismissal
Buses: Morning bus pickups will occur exactly two hours after the regularly scheduled time.
Dismissal: Afternoon dismissal will follow the standard daily schedule for all buildings.

Spring Recess and Upcoming Dates
District families are reminded of the following calendar dates:

  • Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3 – Spring Recess (All schools and offices closed)
  • Monday, April 6 – Act 80 In-service Day (No school for students)
  • Tuesday, April 7 – Return from spring recess (Schools will open with a 2-hour delay.)
