WPSD Earns Three National Communications Awards

Lansdowne, PA – June 16, 2026

The William Penn School District has been recognized with three 2026 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), one of the highest honors in school communications. The awards recognize outstanding work in storytelling, marketing, publications, digital media, podcasts, and other communications efforts from school districts and education organizations across the country.

WPSD received two Awards of Excellence. The first recognized the district’s Portrait of a Graduate Banner Initiative in the Marketing Material category. The project featured banners highlighting the district’s strategic plan, Focus Forward and Beyond, and the Portrait of a Graduate. Displayed in every school building, the banners help create a unified voice and vision across the district while reinforcing the goals and values that guide student success.

The second Award of Excellence was earned in the Special Purpose Publication category for the district’s Focus Forward & Beyond: Strategic Plan Framework document. The publication provides an overview of the district’s strategic plan and serves as a roadmap for the priorities, goals, and initiatives that will guide William Penn School District over the next few years.

In addition, WPSD received an Honorable Mention in the Photo category for Girl with a Golden Trumpet, a photograph featuring a Penn Wood Middle School student and highlighting the district’s music program.

“These awards reflect our commitment to clear, consistent, and purposeful communication,” said Deirdre Abrahamsson, Supervisor of Marketing and Communications. “Whether it’s helping stakeholders understand our strategic plan, reinforcing our Portrait of a Graduate initiative, or highlighting the opportunities available to students, effective communication plays an important role in building trust, engagement, and a shared vision for our district.”

NSPRA announced the 2026 award winners in June, recognizing exemplary communications work from school districts, state organizations, and education agencies throughout the United States.

Congratulations to the William Penn School District communications team for earning national recognition for their work.
