WPSD elementary schools and the Ninth Grade Academy are organizing a series of events in early June to commemorate Juneteenth. This federal holiday commemorates the abolition of slavery in the United States. These programs, sponsored by Forum Philly, aim to educate and celebrate the historical significance of Juneteenth through various assemblies, performances, and exhibits.

Bell Elementary School

Colwyn Elementary School
June 4, 2025 @ 9:30 a.m.

Evans Elementary School
June 6, 2025 @ 1:30 p.m.

Park Lane Elementary School
June 3, 2025 @ 9:30 a.m. (4th – 6th grade) and 2:15 p.m. (K – 3rd grade)

Ninth Grade Academy
June 6-13, 2025
