Lansdowne, PA – June 12, 2026
Dear William Penn School District Families,
Another school year has come to a close, and with it, an opportunity to pause and reflect on all that we have accomplished together. Throughout the past several weeks, our schools have been filled with celebrations and milestones. These moments remind us how much our students have grown and how much there is to celebrate across the William Penn School District. From the many accomplishments of our students and staff to our recognition as a District on the Rise, this year has been a testament to the progress, momentum, and promise of our school community and the bright future ahead.
Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating the Penn Wood High School Class of 2026 at Commencement. I was proud to stand with our graduates as they received their diplomas and took the next step in their journeys. Their success, along with the many accomplishments of students across our district, reflects the dedication of our staff, families, and community. I got to connect with three of them on the latest episode of What Do You Say? With Dr. Eric J. While listening to them speak about their experiences and journeys, I reflected upon how their time in WPSD has set them up for success. I wish all members of the Class of 2026 the best!
One of the highlights of this year was continuing to bring our Portrait of a Graduate initiative to life through the Connecting Our Community tour. Developed with the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council as part of our strategic plan, Focus Forward and Beyond, it reflects the skills, character, and mindset we hope every WPWD student develops from kindergarten through graduation. You can watch a video recap of the tour here.
This year, we also introduced our first-ever Portrait of a Graduate Awards. Congratulations to Gabriel Beckett and Kadija Dukuray who exemplify these attributes through their leadership, character, and commitment to our school community.

On behalf of the entire William Penn School District, I wish you a safe, happy, and relaxing summer.
Although I will not be part of the team welcoming students and staff back this fall, I am confident that the district will be in good hands. Serving the William Penn School District has been one of the great privileges of my career. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated educators, staff, families, community partners, and, most importantly, our students.
Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the resilience, talent, and potential that make the William Penn School District such a special place. The progress we have made together and the momentum reflected in initiatives like Focus Forward and Beyond, the Portrait of a Graduate, and our recognition as a District on the Rise give me great hope for the future.
Thank you for your partnership, support, and commitment to our students. I wish you all the very best and look forward to watching WPSD continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead.
Warm regards,
Dr. Becoats
