Nondiscrimination and Harassment
Text coming from Katie

This will be text about Nondiscrimination and Harassment.

At the William Penn School District, tenure is recognized twice annually and awarded during the October and June Board Meetings. Tenure is awarded when the following conditions are met:

  • Three years of continuous service in one institution (i.e. district)
  • Satisfactory rating during the last four months prior to obtaining tenure
  • Can be granted to full-time or part-time employees
  • Worked the entire duration of the three year period
  • Substitute teaching of any form does not count

When those qualifiers are met, tenure is granted and the employee receives a “Professional Contract” to replace the “Temporary Professional Contract.” Once tenure is achieved, it is transferable to any Pennsylvania school/district. Tenure grants greater protections from termination and layoff and also impacts the evaluation cycle.
